MARATONİZMİR RACE STATUS

COMPETITION RULES
The international Marathonİzmir will be held on April 17, 2022 in İzmir; 10K at 7:20; 42K at 8:00.
The 42K race will start in front of Fuar Kültürpark İzfaş building at Şair Eşref boulevard and continue till the first turn which is before coming Karşıyaka Bostanlı Pier. The second turn will be from İzmir marina located at the entrance of Haydar Aliyev boulevard and will end at the starting point in front of Kültürpark İzfaş building.
The 10K race will start at the opposite lane of Şair Eşref boulevard Fuar Kültürpark İzfaş building and will continue till the turning point at Köprü tram stop on Mustafa Kemal Sahil boulevard and will end at the starting point, the opposite lane of Şair Eşref boulevard Fuar Kültürpark İzfaş building.
GENERAL TOPICS:
1. The race will be made in accordance with the rules of both Turkish Athletic Federation and IAAF.
2. During the competition Turkish Athletics Federation’s Covid-19 pandemic regulations will be implemented.
3. The competition will be open to the public and to the licensed athletes with clubs, individuals and foreign nationals.
4. Foreign national athletes will be able to participate in the race by submitting their passports with unexpired date of Turkish visa.
5. During the race no personal vehicles will be allowed to move along with athletes. Only on duty vehicles will be allowed in race track.
6. Essential Health, Security and transportation services, preparation of the race track, supply of bib numbers, setup of chip systems will be provided by the host İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.
7. The contractor company will deliver the results written and saved to USB stick along with referee charts to the technical delegate at the end of the race. Province representation office will confirm official results and deliver them to the organisation committee.
8. The entire organization belongs to İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and technical subjects are under the control of Turkish Athletics Federation and Provincial Representative of Athletics of İzmir.
9. Award ceremony will begin in the event area at 13.00 beginning with 10K overall ranking, 10K age groups and 42K overall ranking, 42K age groups.
10. Athletes who participate in the competition and who are ranked in the podium must attend the award ceremony. Athletes who did not participate to the award ceremony will not be able to participate the upcoming year’s event.
11. Bib numbers, chips and running T-shirts will be distributed from 10:00 to 19:00 on 14-15-16 April 2022 at the event area in Fuar Kültürpark. Bib number and running kit will not be distributed on the day of the competition. Registered athletes are required to come to get their bib numbers themselves.
Mass number distribution will not be made and the organization authorities should not be insisted on the issue. The appointment date and table number will be given for each athlete and all procedures must be completed within 15 minutes.
12. Athletes can register via license with visa of 2022, if not, with health certificate, and if not with written contract that they signed.
13. Athletes participating in the competition will be deemed to have read and accepted the following statement on the registration page.
I, on my behalf and on behalf of my heirs, managers, personal and legal representatives, will not be held responsible for any injury, damage or death that may occur to me during the activities before and after the 2021 "Marathon - Izmir Race". , that all responsibility belongs to me; I accept that I have no medical disabilities to participate in this run, I am physically sufficient for this race, and I also allow all kinds of photographs and film recordings taken in the 2021 "Marathon Izmir Race" for all legal purposes, including advertising. I declare that if I do not participate in the organization for any reason after registering, I will not claim the rights I have acquired in this registration.
14. During the marathon, the responsibility belongs entirely to the participants. Participants will fill in a letter of consent and a covid measure commitment issued by the athletics federation during the distribution of the kit.
GATHERING POINT:
1. Competitors will gather at the starting point, Fuar Kültürpark, before the competition.
2. On the day of the competition, the athletes will be guided through the disinfectant tunnel with their masks on and from only one entrance to the area. After their temperature is measured and the hand disinfection process is completed, they will be directed to the warming point specially reserved for them.
3. Exit from the area will not be allowed after a certain hour and a warm-up exercise will be started.
4. The area will be settled in separate sections for 42.195m and 10km runners, leaving 1.5 meters from the front, back, right and left of the persons. At the end of the warm-up, each block will be directed to the start with staff, leaving 3 meters between them in four ways.
5. There will be litter boxes for masks in the areas where the athletes advance for the start corridor and within the first 500 meters after the start.
DISQUALIFICATION:
Bib number is not transferable. Leaving the race route, changing the route, placing bib numbers somewhere else other than bib level and transferring the bib number to other people or giving the chip identified to the bib number to other people causes disqualification. Athletes who do not pass the checkpoints on the course will be disqualified. The moment of the competition will be monitored by cameras at certain points of the track.
PERSONAL BELONGINGS:
It is advised for participants not to bring watch, money or other valuable belongings with them. The organization committee is not responsible for lost belongings. Organization committee considers all participants to have read and accepted the declaration in the registration form.
REGISTRATION:
All participating athletes will register online starting on 01 November 2022 till 01.04.2022 18:00 p.m. on www.maratonizmir.org
When the quota limit for the competition is reached, the registration will close systemically without waiting for the closing date.

TECHNICAL TOPICS:
1. The competition will be run as two races of 42.195m (42 Km 195m) and 10km. All competitors will run the distance they have registered.
2. The cut off time of the 42,195m competition is limited to 5 hours (300 mins) and the cut off time of 10K is limited to 2 hours (120 mins). The participants that exceed this duration will be taken out of race track with on duty vehicles (with bus). After these periods, the ranks of the athletes who finish the race and run on the course will not be taken into consideration, these athletes will not be in the rankings. All responsibilities belong to participants if they disregard officers’ warning by not getting on the bus. Organization committee is not responsible for any accidents or adverse events.

FINANCIAL TOPICS:
1. The awards of the winning athletes will be deposited into the Bank IBAN numbers.
2. Foreign athletes participating in the competition must have a Turkish bank account including its Turkish IBAN number. No bank transfer will be made by swift number. Athlete’s legal representatives should submit their certificate/document of representation to organizing committee in case their athlete won prize money.
3. The insurance fee of the athlete who will participate in the competition will be paid by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
4. All athletes participating and completing the competition will be awarded a commemorative medal at the end of the race.
5. The top three athletes in all categories will be awarded a cup.
6. If an athlete is entitled to receive awards both in the general ranking and in his age group, he / she receives the prize money of the category that is higher among the two categories. There is no scrolling in the awarding order.
7. If Turkish athletes are entitled to receive awards both in the overall ranking and in the Turkish Athletes category, they will receive the award of the higher category among the two categories.
8. The degree of an athlete who is ranked in the higher group belongs to the same athlete in his own group and no other athlete can claim any rights over this degree.
HEALTH
1. Entry to the event area will be from a single point and at the entrance everyone's temperature will be measured and passed through the disinfectant tunnel.
2. An isolation tent will be located near the event site. In any adverse situation, the person will be directed in this direction and the necessary intervention will be made.
3. There will be disposable pen for signature at Chip/ Kit distribution points.
4. Kit distribution table number will be determined individually and participants will be allowed to complete their transactions and leave the field within 15 minutes.
5. There will be a social distance range of 1.5 metres in diameter for each athlete.
6. All athletes and staff are required to use masks.
7. It should cover the mask and the mouth and nose completely.
8. Handshakes, hugs, such as close contacts will not be made. In addition, the participation of athletes in the race by providing their own isolation before the race is of great importance for the health of all athletes and employees.
